One counterargument to Lenin's assertion that imperialism is the highest stage of capitalism is that not all capitalist countries engage in imperialistic practices. Some capitalist countries have strong domestic economies and do not rely on exploiting other nations for resources and markets. Additionally, some argue that the rise of globalization and multinational corporations has shifted the dynamics of imperialism, making it less about direct colonial control and more about economic and cultural influence.
